What is a B Corporation?
B stands for Benefit for all.
Gaining certification has been a challenging but valuable audit process to ensure we are walking the talk as a purpose-led business. Along with the B Global Network, we are working to change the economic system to positively impact all stakeholders — workers, communities, customers, and our planet.
There are now 1,500 certified B Corporations in the UK – talk to us if you want to join this network by attaining the certification but need to know how to start.
Why Triple Bottom Line Accounting?
As a B Corp within the accountancy profession, TBLA is counted among businesses leading a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.
B Corp Certification isn’t an award — it’s the beginning of a journey towards continuous improvement and collective action.
Being a B Corp isn’t about being the best. It’s about constantly working to be better.
With gratitude to the following people and organisations that have helped us get here:
Many people and organisations have pointed TBLA in the right direction.
Starting with ensuring we could live up to the values of the Good Business Charter, The Living Wage Foundation and The Organisation for Responsible Business. Jill Wade of Shimpling Place Consulting helped us craft all our HR policies to be legally compliant and match our values, starting with a well-crafted “Respect at Work Policy” co-created by our team. Our HR and Sustainability Director, Fran Ellington, attended several workshops and courses regarding genuine impact measurement, including studying with the New Economics Foundation, Economy for the Common Good and CSR- Accreditation. People to thank in the latter organisations are Bridget Knapper, Gerd Hofielen, Jennifer Clark and Muryel Boulay.

Let’s be the change we want to see!
Fran joined TBLA in 2019 after a long career in teaching. Her roles include human resources management, ESG and Marketing. During 2020 and 2021 she developed the TBLA Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) impact service. As part of the process, she has carried out an impact analysis of the TBLA social and governance profile and a whole company carbon calculation with accompanying target setting, carbon reduction action plan and impact narrative. Fran is now working alongside the growing ESG team to help more SMEs plan for Net Zero around the UK. Fran is also on the board of the Norwich Business Climate Leaders hoping to accelerate the transition to Net Zero.
