Meet the team

Training and research are key to our work. We keep up to date with the latest developments in finance, accounting, taxation and compliance. For complex tax problems/opportunities we work with partners that ensure our advice is the best.

Peter Ellington: Director

I started TBLA in 2009 when I left corporate life as a Commercial Director in Telecommunications.  I work mainly with new clients and with the TBLA team helping them with the more complex client work. I also develop new aspects of our business such as setting up our EIS offering or more complex tax modelling tools.

Outside the office, you’ll find me teaching in the Norwich Business School on the MBA programme, Entrepreneurship or Taxation. I’m in the last stages of a Doctorate in Education. When I’m not working, teaching or studying, I’m outdoors hiking or sailing.

Luke Hilditch: Practice Manager

I joined TBLA in 2014, after graduating from the Norwich Business School. I became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 2019. Specialising in new business start-ups, taxation and small enterprise, I have been able to help many clients make their dreams of running their business a reality. I help established companies with strategic financial and tax advice to achieve their goals.

Outside the office, you’ll find me sitting behind my drum kit for bands and orchestras or clocking up the miles with local cycling clubs.

Tatiana Blana: Accounts Assistant

I completed an undergraduate degree in Finance and Banking in 2010 and a master’s degree in Accounting and Audit in 2012. I am currently studying towards an ACCA qualification to become a Certified Chartered Accountant. My role at TBLA involves performing various accounting tasks such as VAT Returns, Payroll, Self Assessments, Tax Returns and Statutory Accounts.

Outside the office, I love spending time with my family and reading my favourite books.

Leah Malpas: Accounts Assistant

I began my career as a trainee accounts assistant in September 2015 and a year later began studying for my AAT qualifications. I completed my AAT Level 4 in January 2019. I joined TBLA in August 2019 and look forward to making further progress with my career and qualifications.

Outside the office, I will either be found in the kitchen, baking and testing out new recipes, or curled up on the sofa reading a psychological thriller.

Fran Ellington: Business Development Director

I joined TBLA in 2019 after retiring from a career in teaching. I enjoy meeting or speaking to new clients and helping with the onboarding process. I work on developing and updating the TBLA website and social media profiles. I enjoy networking with the local business community and with groups who share our social and environmental priorities.

Outside the office, you will find me outdoors hiking, gardening or foraging for ingredients for recipes, home herbal remedies or homemade skincare products.

Rebecca Barker: Bookkeeper

Having relocated from Essex in 2019, I joined TBLA after assisting accounts departments and administrators. I had previously completed the AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping. Now I am working towards the AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting. My role at TBLA involves completing bookkeeping duties for clients using cloud accounting software.

Outside the office, I can be found crafting new products for my Etsy shop and spending time with friends and family.

Kevin Murfitt: Accounts Assistant

I joined TBLA in 2020 with a thirty plus year career in accountancy. My role at TBLA involves the compiling of statutory accounts, individual and corporate tax returns along with VAT, payroll and bookkeeping tasks. I especially enjoy the interaction with clients and day to day problem-solving.

Outside the office, I can be found rustling up a meal in 15 minutes, completing YouTube fitness workouts (kettlebells a favourite) and enjoying a nice glass of red, not necessarily all at the same time.

Charlie Flanagan: Accounts Assistant

I interned with TBLA while completing my undergraduate degree in Business Management at the UEA. I was thrilled to be offered a full-time training contract with TBLA in 2021. I will be contributing to the delivery of our Environmental and Social Impact Narratives service, alongside providing sound financial advice to SMEs and Start-Ups. I particularly enjoy  business planning.  For my training, I will be undertaking the certificate level of ICAEW before starting a Level 7 apprenticeship.

Outside the office, I enjoy the outdoors, either hiking or playing five-a-side football. If the weather isn’t great, I’ll resort to reading or spending time with family and friends.
