Peter Ellington: Director

I set up Triple Bottom Line Accounting (TBLA) in 2009 following a long career in FTSE100 companies. I work mainly with our larger clients. I also develop new aspects of our business. As we grow I am helping the team to adapt to progressive ways of working. I aspire to be the leader, mentor, and coach that enables the team at TBLA to build a transformative accountancy practice.

Outside the office, you’ll find me teaching in the Norwich Business School on the MBA programme, Entrepreneurship, and Taxation. I graduated in 2021 from the Institute of Education, UCL as a Doctor in Education: Accounting Education. When I’m not working or teaching, I’m outdoors hiking or sailing.

I joined TBLA in 2014, after graduating from the Norwich Business School. I became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 2019. Specialising in new business start-ups, taxation and small enterprise, I have been able to help many clients make their dreams of running their business a reality. I help established companies with strategic financial and tax advice to achieve their goals.

Outside the office, you’ll find me sitting behind my drum kit for bands and orchestras or clocking up the miles with local cycling clubs.

I am currently studying towards an ACCA qualification to become a Certified Chartered Accountant. My role at TBLA involves performing various accounting tasks such as VAT Returns, Payroll, Self Assessments, Tax Returns and Statutory Accounts.

Outside the office, I love spending time with my family and reading my favourite books.

I joined TBLA in 2020 with a thirty plus year career in accountancy. My role at TBLA involves the compiling of statutory accounts, individual and corporate tax returns along with VAT, payroll and bookkeeping tasks. I especially enjoy the interaction with clients and day to day problem-solving.

Outside the office, I can be found rustling up a meal in 15 minutes, completing YouTube fitness workouts (kettlebells a favourite) and enjoying a nice glass of red, not necessarily all at the same time.

Leah Malpas: Accounts Assistant

I began my career as a trainee accounts assistant in September 2015 and a year later began studying for my AAT qualifications which I completed in January 2019. I joined TBLA in August 2019 taking on responsibility for company accounts, VAT returns, and payroll. I’m currently studying on the Level 7 apprenticeship scheme aiming to qualify under the ICAEW.

Outside the office, I will either be found in the kitchen, baking and testing out new recipes, on the sofa reading or spending time with family.

Lucy Johnston: Accounts Assistant

I joined TBLA in July 2021. I am AAT qualified and have enjoyed a varied career in and around accounts. My role at TBLA involves various accounting tasks such as payroll, VAT returns, Statutory Accounts, and onboarding. I was very drawn to TBLA by its ethos and core values (caring, professional, and progressive) and look forward to developing my skills further to support the team and clients.

Outside the office, I enjoy getting out in the fresh air as much as I can via running, swimming, biking, or walking and have met some of my closest friends through local clubs and activities.

Jordan Bowman: Accounts Assistant

I joined Triple Bottom Line Accounting in August 2021 while completing the last stages of the ACCA qualification. With 8 years previous experience in accounts and bookkeeping and the AAT qualification I aim to be a valuable addition to the team. TBLA appeared to be offering something different to other accountancy firms, both to clients and employees alike, which is what drew me to the role.

Outside the office, I am a keen squash player and enjoy playing guitar.

Fran Ellington: Business Development Director

I joined TBLA in 2019 after retiring from a career in teaching. My roles include human resources management, ESG, onboarding new clients, marketing and social media. I enjoy networking with the local business community and groups who share or are interested in our social and environmental principles. In 2020 I developed the TBLA Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) impact service. As part of the process, I have carried out an impact analysis of the TBLA social and governance profile and a whole company carbon calculation with accompanying target setting, carbon reduction action plan and impact narrative.

Outside the office, you will find me hiking, gardening or foraging for ingredients for recipes, home herbal remedies or homemade skincare products.

Having relocated from Essex in 2019, I joined TBLA after assisting accounts departments and administrators. I had previously completed the AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping. Now I am working towards the AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting. My role at TBLA involves completing bookkeeping duties for clients using cloud accounting software.

Outside the office, I can be found crafting new products for my Etsy shop and spending time with friends and family.

Charlie Flanagan: Trainee Accountant

I interned with TBLA while completing my undergraduate degree in Business Management at the UEA. I was thrilled to be offered a full-time training contract with TBLA in 2021. I will be contributing to the delivery of our Environmental and Social Impact Narratives service, alongside providing sound financial advice to SMEs and Start-Ups. I particularly enjoy business planning. For my training, I will be undertaking the certificate level of ICAEW before starting a Level 7 apprenticeship.

Outside the office, I enjoy the outdoors, either hiking or playing five-a-side football. If the weather isn’t great, I’ll resort to reading or spending time with family and friends.

Eleanor Hannant: Trainee Bookkeeper and Onboarding Assistant

I joined TBLA in May 2021 on the Kickstart scheme, after gaining a distinction in Performing Arts, Level 3 Extended Diploma, at City College Norwich. I was immediately attracted to the TBLA company ethos – it’s the perfect place to work if you’re someone who cares about our planet and society. TBLA has a really encouraging attitude towards learning and qualifications and is currently supporting me through the AAT qualifications.

Outside the office, I love to write, usually just for myself, as a way to relax and express my thoughts; short stories, poetry and songs. I also play guitar.
