“To make meaningful progress on sustainability, it needs to be rooted in all business decisions”.
Triple Bottom Line Accounting’s founder, Dr Peter Ellington, has much to say about the future of accounting education. Several years of academic research and decades of industry and accounting practice experience have informed his views. As well as running TBLA, Peter teaches at the Norwich Business School, has completed an EdD in accounting education and is a tax examiner for the ACCA.
The TBLA practice is managed by an ICAEW qualified accountant, Luke Hilditch. TBLA has taken several trainees through the apprenticeship programme to full qualification or to continue their road to qualification.
Peter says, “Chartered accountants have a real opportunity to [use powerful knowledge gained in their education or CPD] to save the planet and make a real difference in society. But it needs to start from their education, so the future accountants [must] have #ESG as one of their core values.”

Peter Ellington is the Founder of Triple Bottom Line Accounting. He has a Doctorate in Education and campaigns for social and environmental justice.
