We are pleased to announce our newest recruit, Kevin Murfitt, who joins us with over 30 years’ experience of accountancy and taxation. As a learning organisation, we are delighted as we will have much to learn from Kevin, and he will free up time for others in the team to continue their studies. Rebecca will be resuming her Level 3 AAT studies in February at Wensum Lodge after an interruption to her studies due to the pandemic. Leah, who began her accounting career in 2015 and completed her Level 4 AAT in 2019 is about to start a 3- year programme as a Level 7 apprentice with First Intuition. This will lead to her becoming a fully qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Tatiana has already passed all the ACCA applied skills exams and is now studying for the last three exams at the final Strategic Professional Level. Once completed she will join Luke, Lamon and Peter as fully qualified accountants. Fran has been studying with the Economy for the Common Good while piloting a new “Triple Bottom Line” service called Social and Environmental Impact Narratives. She is looking forward to complementing this by attending an intensive two-day course with the New Economics Foundation next month on Measuring Social Impact. Last but not least, company founder, Peter Ellington, is approaching the conclusion of a seven-year part-time Doctorate in Education investigating the need to change the way accountants are educated. His thesis is based on the need for powerful knowledge in accountancy education for environmental and social justice. He is arguing that ideas such as including people and planet in the “bottom line” should be included in the curriculum. Look out for a future blog on how this is progressing.
